He provides supervision, management, coordination and analysis of Maryland’s estuarine water quality, habitat and living resource monitoring programs in support of regional, State and Departmental policies and pollution control programs. These environmental monitoring programs supply the necessary data to address management information needs in assessing the effectiveness of overall nutrient and sediment pollution control programs, water quality criteria assessment, harmful algal blooms program and SAV restoration activities. His interests center on the assessment of new water quality monitoring technologies, statistical assessments of spatially and temporally intensive monitoring information, tracking progress on watershed restoration activities and information dissemination through DNR’s “EyesontheBay” web site at www.eyesonthebay.net .
Recent Activities:
Contributions to the design and implementation of the Chesapeake Bay Shallow Water Monitoring Program to assess the new water quality criteria for dissolved oxygen, water clarity and chlorophyll.
